With this notice, the OFFICIAL ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERS OF CATALONIA (hereinafter, “COEIC”) and the ASSOCIATION OF INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERS OF CATALONIA (hereinafter “AEIC”), with registered address at Via Laietana, 39, in Barcelona (08003), hereby inform this website’s users regarding the PRIVACY AND PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY relating to the website www.cew.cat.
 

In compliance with Law 15/1999, of 13 December, on Personal Data Protection (LOPD), the COEIC hereby informs users that the personal data that, if applicable, is provided by them through the different forms found on this website shall be added to automated personal data files under the responsibility of the COEIC or the AEIC, as the case may be, with the user expressly authorising such processing.
 

The collection and automated processing of the user’s personal data are used:

 

a) In the event that the data is sent through the “Join Us” section, to manage and administer his profile as a member of Catalan Engineers Worldwide.

 

b) In the event that the data is sent through “Contact us” section, to respond to his request for information and to keep him duly informed of the features and services provided through www.cew.cat

 

The identification of the file to which the personal data provided shall be added, as well as its controller, is specified at the foot of each form found on this website. The data provided shall never be used for any other purpose other than those expressly mentioned and shall immediately be deleted when it is no longer necessary for these purposes.
 

In case the forms contain personal data pertaining to natural persons other than the user providing it, the user must inform these persons of the limits found in this notice.
 

Unless otherwise specified, it shall be deemed necessary to fill in all data in the fields of each form, with the user under obligation to fill in the forms with real, accurate, complete, and up-to-date data. Only the user shall be liable for any damage, whether direct or indirect, which he may cause the COEIC, the AEIC or any third party as a result of filling in the forms with fake, inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated data.̈ In this regard, the user ensures that all personal data provided is true and he shall be responsible for notifying the COEIC or the AEIC, depending on which file his data has been added to, of any changes to it.
 

In case the COEIC or the AEIC provides any type of special service for which it has established specific conditions other than these with regard to personal data protection, the application of the particular rules specified for that particular service shall take precedence over these, in the event of inconsistency between the two.
 

All information relating to personal data received by the COEIC and the AEIC is treated with the utmost confidentiality, bound by the duty of professional secrecy, only limited to carrying out, in accordance with the applicable legislation in force, the communications that are strictly necessary for the specified purposes.
 

Notwithstanding the foregoing, those users who provide their data through the “Join Us” section, by agreeing to this privacy policy, expressly agree to and authorise their contact data (including the image provided) being visible to all “members” that form part of the Catalan Engineers Worldwide network, for being precisely the purpose for which this portal was created.
 

However, through this Privacy Policy, the COEIC and the AEIC hereby inform users that they have adopted the security levels concerning personal data established in both the LOPD and RD 1720/2007, of 21 December, for which the Implementation decree of the LOPD was approved, and that they have put in place all the means and technical measures within their reach to avoid the loss, misuse, alteration, and unauthorised access to the personal data included in their files.
 

In accordance with Article 6 of the LOPD, the user’s agreement for his personal data to be processed in the manner established in this Privacy Policy shall always be revocable, with no retroactive effects.
 

The COEIC and the AEIC hereby inform the users who use cookies when they browse through the different screens and pages of this website that, in accordance with the terms specified in their "COOKIE USAGE POLICY", it is included in this notice in reference to this section.
 

The COEIC and the AEIC reserve the right to change their Privacy Policy in accordance with their criteria, or as a result of a change in legislation, jurisprudence or business practice. Should the COEIC and the AEIC make any changes to this notice, the new text shall be published on this same website, so that users are aware of the content of the Privacy Policy in force at all times.
